Mr. Wilcoxen was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during WWII. He was a member of Grassy Creek United Methodist Church. Conrad loved hunting and square dancing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Thelma Owens Wilcoxen, a brother: Ovid W. Wilcoxen, a sister: Vetra W. Greenwood.
Survivors include three nieces: Jane W. Banner and husband David of Germanton, Beth G. Norman and husband Charles, Betty Jo G. Burton and husband Alfred all of Elkin, nephew, C.W. Greenwood, Jr. of Tallapoosa, Ga., five great nieces: Christin B. Jordan, Sheila Cave of Dobson, Sherry Bush, Michelle Worthy and Mandy Smith all of Georgia, two great nephews: Chuck Burton of Dobson, and Dale Burton of Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2 p.m. Grassy Creek United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jim Prichard. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Grassy Creek United Methodist Church.
