ACC All-Star game coming to Surry Central High School

DOBSON - UNC Senior Quentin Thomas and Duke senior DeMarcus Nelson have played over a hundred college basketball games in arenas all over the United States. Recently, these two finished their careers and now local fans will be able to come out and see them at the Surry Central High School gym.

On Monday April 14, ACC fans will be able to say goodbye to players from the ACC conference. In addition to Thomas and Nelson, UNC senior Surry Wood will join the team playing against the Surry County all-stars. Other seniors scheduled to play are Gavin Grant and Chad Williams from N.C.State and Clemson seniors , Cliff Hammonds, Sam Perry, James May and Matt Moore.

The game will benefit the USSSA/AAU Youth Basketball and Surry Central

High School Booster Club. The Surry County all-stars will consist of players and alumni from Surry County Public Schools.

"This should be a great game and exciting night for family fun," says Coach Mark Snow, local coordinator for the night.

In addition to the game, there will be a slam dunk contest and a 3 point contest at half time. Both of these are open to local fans. There will be an autograph session after the game.

The game will be held at the Surry Central High School Gym in Dobson, NC at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale at area Neighbor's stores and Surry Central High School.

A limited number of VIP tickets are available. VIP tickets include reserve seating behind the bench and a dinner/reception for the ACC players after the game.

"We expect to have a sell-out," said Coach Snow. "This game will be a good way for ACC fans to have a great night of basketball and support the local schools," he continued. Tickets are $10.in advance and $15 at the door.
