Local residents showed their support for an Elkin police detective still recovering from a automobile accident in December.

People streamed into the Elkin Resque Squad's main meeting hall on Saturday for a Spaghetti dinner. The Shores family hosted the dinner, raising $2,335.

A second spaghetti dinner is being held by the Elkin police department on Feb. 23 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m at the Elkin Elementary School. Plates are $5 each purchasable at Elkin police department, Elkin Town Hall and Elkin police officers. Detective Shore's youngest daughter was also injured in the accident. Both are still in rehabilitation.
