Three Ronda area residents have filed a lawsuit seeking a temporary restraining order restricting the town's sewer line construction.

A legal complaint was filed against the town of Ronda Dec. 10, regarding sewer easements by David Andrew Wood and Kevin and Deerie Reece. They retained attorney Sigsbee Miller of Willardson, Lipscomb and Miller.

The complaint is in response to Reece's claim that the Town of Ronda did not offer fair payment to all who were involved in the new sewer line easements. A secondary accusation was made regarding improperly completed paperwork that allegedly led to a misrepresentation of the landowners.

A temporary restraining order was requested from the Superior Court. The plaintiffs are requesting to delay sewer line construction on their land until "just compensation" is made and "properly acknowledged easements or aquired easements by condemnation" are obtained.

The dispute has been discussed at Ronda Town Hall meetings since October.

Mayor Victor Varela said Thursday night that this is not an appropriate time for him to comment.
