Mrs. Virginia Ruth Neaves Marsh, age 79 of Lyles Street, Elkin, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Marsh was born July 16, 1928 in Ashe County to Baxter & Lola Teller Neaves.

Mrs. Marsh was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. On Feb. 16, 1946 she was married to Raymond Marsh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Kathleen, a son: Glen Edward "Eddie" Marsh, two brothers: Robert Neaves and Wiley Neaves, three sisters: Blanch Hart, Ruby Barker and Mabel McMillan.

Survivors include two sons: Phil D. Marsh of Atlantic Beach and Robert M. Marsh of Morehead City, three daughters: Wanda Walker and husband Gerald of Jonesville, Geneva Davis and husband Roger of East Bend, Jennifer Martin of Elkin, a brother: Carl Neaves and wife Edna of Danville, Va., a sister: Judy Miller and husband Frank of Millers Creek, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Danny Dodds. Entombment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
