I am writing to recommend David Harley Morrison for a commissioner on the Elkin Town Board. We need a commissioner with his experience. He has created a business that has been very successful for over 25 years. He has been chairman of a committee that raised the money and constructed a Christian Life Center that is very valuable to this community.
David met Susan Johnson, a student at the University of North Carolina Nursing School, while he was a student at the UNC School of Pharmacy. Susan is the daughter of Raymond and Alice Johnson, a fine family with a great reputation in the Elkin area. David and Susan were married in 1973. David graduated from UNC School of Pharmacy in 1975.
They then moved to Elkin and have been a residence owner for over 30 years in Elkin. They have three children; Alice, Sarah and John. The children all attended the Elkin School system.
David worked as a pharmacist for seven years and then bought D-Rex pharmacy in 1982 and built it into a large business. He has had a wide variety of experience in business, teaching and church work.
David is a past member of the Retail Advisory Committee for Mutual Wholesale Drug Company and Cardinal Health, a past member of the Board of Trustees of Campbell University, a Preceptor for Campbell University School of Pharmacy and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice for Wingate University School of Pharmacy.
David is an active member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church. At Elkin Valley Baptist Church he is a deacon. He has served as chairman of the Vision 2000 Committee, chairman of the New Construction Steering Committee for the Christian Life Center, co-director of the Upward Basketball League 2004-2007, past chairman Personnel Committee, and a member Trustee Orientation Committee of the Baptist State Convention of N.C.
I highly recommend David Harley Morrison for commissioner in the coming election for the Elkin Town Board.
