Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital has announced its plan for a $48 million expansion scheduled to take place over the next three years.

CEO Steven Pennington said construction on a new laboratory is already underway, with the work on two new surface parking areas coming in the next few weeks.

The lab is just the first of many improvements the hospital is planning. Over the next three years Hugh Chatham will be undergoing a major overhaul. The lab, a relocation of the information technology section of the hospitals infrastructure and the parking lots mark the beginning of the changes.
