Elkin-Mount Airy game moved to Saturday at 2 p.m.

Heavy rains the past couple of days have forced the postponement of most Friday night football action in The Tribune coverage area.

Here is the revised schedule, as of Friday afternoon:

-- Elkin and Mount Airy will wage their rivalry battle on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grissom Stadium.

-- The Starmount at North Surry game has been moved to Monday night at 7:30 p.m.

-- East Wilkes will play a JV-varsity doubleheader against visiting Alleghany on Monday at 5 p.m. The JV teams will play first.

The only area game still on for tonight is Surry Central at Forbush, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. North Wilkes has a bye from game action this week.

As a result of the Elkin-Mount Airy game change, the Sertoma Bowl youth championship games, which had been scheduled for Saturday at Elkin High, have been pushed back a week. The Sertoma games will now be played next Saturday, Nov. 2. Time and place are still TBA.
