Benefit golf tourney

The annual Jack Williams Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Yadkin Country Club on Sept. 29.

The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The format is captain's choice, and the entry fee is $200. For more information, contact Starmount assistant athletics director Heather Courts at 468-2891.

Kinder Basketball in Elkin Elkin Recreation and Parks will hold registration for Kinder Basketball on Sept. 1-28.

Kinder Basketball is a skills and fundamentals-based program for children ages 4-5. The program will meet twice a week for three weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6-6:45 p.m.

The cost is $10 for Elkin residents and $15 for non-residents. The registrant's birth certificate must accompany registration. For more information, call the Elkin Recreation Center at 835-9814.

Alumni football game

The annual East Wilkes vs. North Wilkes alumni football game has been scheduled for Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.
