Anderson honored for volunteerism


Calvin Anderson of Wilkesboro is honored as Duke Energy Retiree Volunteer of the Year for the Duke Energy Foothills Chapter at a recent luncheon in Jonesville. Anderson’s volunteer activities include working with HOPE Ministries of Wilkes, where he keeps their wood sheds, which were built by Duke Energy Retirees, filled with firewood for needy families. His work improves the quality of life in the community, said group leaders.
