WEST JEFFERSON — Elkin picked up wins in every weight class on Friday night, handing Ashe a 75-0 loss.

The evening started with the 106-pound class where Elkin’s Carter Hanson pinned Caleb Cooper for the first Buckin’ Elk victory.

The next three weight classes were all forfeit wins for the Elks, starting with Tyjae Townsend (113), Mikey Grubbs (120) and Ryan Patterson at 126-pounds.

In the 132-pound match, it would be Jude Lloyd that scored just enough to beat Ashe’s Brady Buchanan by an 8-5 decision.

Blake Frye got Elkin’s fourth forfeit win at 138 points.

Next up, 145-pounder Ethan Chipman made quick work of Harley Miller earning a pinfall win in the first period.

The 152-pound match saw Husky grappler John Reavis square off with Phoenix Collins. It came down to the wire, but once again, Elkin got the win with Collins hanging on for a 9-4 decision.

Elkin’s 160-pounder Jerry Neese got a forfeit victory before the final two matches of the evening.

At 170 pounds, Juan Anuario pinned Tanner Kilby early in the first period. The 182-pound match went the distance with Ryan Russell taking a 9-2 decision win over Zachariah Bare.

Seth Evans at 195 pounds, Justin Redd at 220 pounds and Dustin Bobbitt at 285 pounds finished off the clean sweep with forfeit wins.
