Elkin golf earns non-conference win

Elkin High School’s men’s golf team had a non-conference match Tuesday at Cedarbrook Country Club. The participating teams played the front nine holes; playing at 3,152 yards. The weather was cloudy in the low 60s with light rain the last couple of holes.

Elkin finished in first place with a team score of 168.

Alleghany had a team score of 169.

East Wilkes had a team score of 180.

Starmount had a team score of 184

Millennium Charter Academy had a team score of 212.

Chris Fillingame, a Starmount senior, finished in first-place overall with a 38. Harrison Hall, an Elkin High senior, and Noah Hill, an Elkin High junior, both had a score of 39.

Dylon Wooten and Hunter Maines, both Alleghany seniors, shot 40. Jais Norman, an East Wilkes sophomore, had a 40. Micah Caudill, an East Wilkes sophomore, shot a 42.

Beau Burgess, an Elkin senior, had a 43. Luke Anderson, an Elkin junior, had a 47. Houston Hall, an East Wilkes freshman, shot a 48.
