Football Preview — Sept. 2

On Friday, two local teams are in action for the third week of high school football, and two teams have a bye week.

East Wilkes and Starmount will have a week off, while Forbush and Elkin will be back in action this week. Starmount’s next game will be Sept. 9 at home against cross-county rival Forbush. East Wilkes’ next game will be Sept. 9 at North Stokes.

This week, the Forbush Falcons will take on North Wilkes (1-1) at Falcon Stadium. The Falcons are off to a great start as they are 2-0 so far this season. They are looking to keep their undefeated season going and finally get a winning record in the books.

Elkin will be in action at undefeated Mount Airy (2-0). The Buckin’ Elks have struggled this season as they have yet to win a game. They’ll be looking to change their record, as they take on a strong Mount Airy team.
