NELLYSFORD, Va. — A local graduate was one of three lady golfers to earn all-conference honors for Washington and Lee University.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released its postseason awards at the championship awards banquet this past week.

Sophomore Liza Freed (Alexandria, Virginia/St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes) was named to the All-ODAC First Team, while sophomores Mary-Frances Hall (State Road/Elkin) and Caroline Holloway (Gainesville, Florida/Oak Hall) were selected to the second team squad.

Hall was a First Team All-ODAC selection a year ago when she also earned ODAC Player and Rookie of the Year honors. She entered ODAC Championship competition ranked second on the team with an 80.0 stroke average across 12 rounds played. She had one top-five finish and carded a low round of 74.

Hall graduated from Elkin High School where she earned four letters in golf. She also helped lead her team to four conference championships, two runner-up finishes at the regional tournament, a fourth-place finish at the 2011 state championship and a third-place finish at the 2013 state championship.

She was a four-time all-conference honoree and the conference player of the year as a senior. She was named to the North Carolina All-State Junior Girls Golf Team as a sophomore and senior and was ranked 15th in the North Carolina Junior Girls Golf Rankings.
