A cursory look at the expense reports submitted by embattled Surry County Commissioner Paul Johnson reveals what one county source has described as a widespread pattern of financial impropriety.Johnson, while he hasn’t been officially named, is reportedly the subject of a State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) probe into the alleged financial misconduct.The issue arose after county staff began scrutinizing Johnson’s expense reimbursement requests, according to County Attorney Ed Woltz.
