YV United Fund holds kick-off

The Yadkin Valley United Fund began its kick-off with a goal to raise $145,000 by Nov. 21 at Elkin High School during a close football game match-up against Surry Central High School held at Grissom Stadium on Friday.Representatives from 27 agencies were recognized during the game’s halftime. Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital sponsored the kick-off event providing tents for the agencies on the football sidelines.President of the Yadkin Valley United Fund Ginger Isenhoward said if people see how this agency impacts people in programs like “Feed the Elderly,” they will never forget it.Isenhoward said God takes the donations and turns them into a lot more.

 

Grace Clinic receives funding from The Winston-Salem Foundation

Tri County Health Resource Center (Grace Clinic), the free clinic for uninsured, low-income adults in the Yadkin Valley, received a generous grant award of $8,000 from The Winston-Salem Foundation on Aug. 27.The funds were provided by the Richard T. Chatham Fund and will be used to provide medications and diabetic testing supplies to Grace Clinic patients.
