Holly Lamm is a native of Arkansas who moved to Elkin in 1998 and began her career at The Elkin Tribune. Married to Scott Lamm, they have three children Brady, Cameron and Maggie Lamm, a Border Collie named Patches and a Westie named Bailey. Dustin Atkinson has been with The Tribune since July 2010. In addition to the past five years in print and online, he also has extensive experience in radio, having previously worked as morning show host, news director and production lead at WIFM in Elkin in the mid-late 90s, so has years of experience in both the creative and customer service aspects of advertising and marketing. He prides himself on designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns for local businesses regardless of their advertising budget.
As a former musician, Dustin is an avid music fan. He also enjoys reading in his rare spare time, and is an amateur scholar of military history and alternative archaeology.
Phyllis Carter has worked at The Tribune in Elkin for three years at the front desk. She has been married for 26 years to Bruce Carter. They have no children, but have two cats -- one weighs 15 and 1/2 pounds and likes to play hide and seek. She lives in Jonesville and grew up in Wilkes County and attends Shoaly Branch Baptist Church. She likes to read, crochet and loves to shop, and loves to meet new people.
Robert Phillips - Advertising sales representative
Robert Phillips has more than 20 years of experience in print, radio sales and marketing as well as PR. He has created several niche print products; the Pole Sitter Challenge with WFMX; the Lemon Meringue Pie Contest with Bob Hope; several seniors citizens publications; and a faith publication with professional sports figures. Also, he has worked with top NASCAR drivers and with AARP in a PR role for the organization's Driver Safety Program.
He has nine years of military experience including anti-terrorism and two-man nuclear weapons control/release.
Cindy Bryant has been with The Tribune since January 2015. She resides in Elkin with her two daughters, Katelyn and Summer. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids at home or on a ball field. Her duties at The Tribune include classified advertising, assisting in the front office, and assisting the sales department.
Judy Baldwin manages circulation and distribution for The Tribune and The Yadkin Ripple. Her duties include looking after the carriers and assisting in the front office. At home, she loves to work in her flowers, grow veggies and walk at Elkin Park. She likes to read a good book when she has time.
Wendy Byerly Wood has been with the company since February 2001. She started out as a reporter at The Mount Airy News, and has since worked as editor at The Stokes News and the Weekly Independent and associated editor at Mount Airy. For some time she has served as editor of The Pilot, a position she retains, and in October 2013 she became content manager for The Elkin Tribune and The Yadkin Ripple. She lives in Pilot Mountain with her husband, Johnnie III, and their son, Jackson Kourtland "Kourt" who is 4.
Karen Holbrook is a general assignment reporter with The Tribune since November 2014. She enjoys being active, whether in the community or by road cycling, and has never found a bookstore she doesn't like. She is an Appalachian State Mountaineer for life and can often be seen on hikes in the area with her dog Boone.
