Elkin JROTC hosts semi-annual blood drive
Elkin High School’s JROTC held its semi-annual blood drive Thursday in conjunction with the American Red Cross. Cadet Lt. Col. The search is on for North Carolina’s outstanding senior volunteers. The Salute to Senior Service program, sponsored by Home Instead, Inc., the franchisor of the Home Instead Senior Care network, honors the contributions of adults 65 and older who give at least 15 hours a month of volunteer service to their favorite causes. A Jonesville woman was charged March 8 with simple possession, escape from custody or resist arrest, warrant for arrest, forgery - using/uttering, and fraud - obtaining money/property by false pretense. Ronda takes steps to reduce speeding
Ronda is looking to crack down on drivers speeding through town. At Tuesday night’s town hall meeting, Ronda Mayor Victor Varela and the Board of Commissioners discussed adding speed bumps or rumble strips in town as part of an overall effort to enforce speed limits in town limits.
