ELKIN - Elkin native Maggie Walker and the South Region team will compete this weekend at the Powerade State Games of North Carolina.
At Wake Forest University’s W. Dennie Spry Stadium, the four-region soccer tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday.
The South begins the competition with a matchup against the East squad at 10 a.m., while the North and West battle at 2 p.m. that afternoon.
The winners of each game will then play Sunday at 9 a.m. for the championship, with the losing teams playing for the bronze medal at 11 a.m. on the practice field at Wake Forest.
