DOBSON - The Surry Community College golf team finished 19th in the 2012 Men’s National Junior College Athletic Association Golf Championship Tournament held at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Ind.
The Knights shot a team-total of 1332 for the four-day tournament, that was held from May 22-25.
Justin Young led Surry with a four-day total of 313, finishing tied for 76th overall. Luke Jones finished the tournament tied at 109th overall with a score of 331.
Andy Carowan shot a total of 344 to finish 118th overall, while Chris Joyce finished 123rd with a 353. Blake Hunter finished 124th overall, shooting a total of 360 for the tournament.
“We competed against some outstanding golf teams,” Surry head golf coach Tom Pendergraft said. “This was a tremendous experience for these young men and they certainly represented Surry Community College in a positive manner.
“It was an honor to participate and a great experience,” he added. “We truly appreciate all the support from our parents and the entire community.”
