YADKINVILLE - Despite two solid outings in their final meets of the season, the Yadkin Stingrays fell to Chadwyck and Kernersville last week at the Yadkin Family YMCA to close out the regular season.

In the first meet, the Stingrays captured 20 individual medals and six relay medals, but lost to the Flyers 441-309. On Thursday, Yadkin powered its way to 27 individual medals and nine relay medals, but couldn’t catch the Riptyde and fell 432.5-351.5.

Joel Keating, Noah Medwin and Luke Grotberg paced Yadkin against Chadwyck. Keating raced to four gold medals, while Medwin and Grotberg each finished ahead of the pack in three events.

Jamie Beamguard, Hunter Kepley and Kenton McCullum added two first-place finishes each as Jayla Murrill, Lilly Fowler, Gina Myers and Michael Stewart tacked on one gold medal apiece for the Stingrays. Myers and Stewart added three silver medals each.

Mia Keating, Ashley Ferguson, Mark Grotberg, Hope Medwin, Will Barron, Samantha Wooten, Sam Marler and Sophia Barron all captured silver medals on the afternoon to help lead Yadkin.

Against Kernersville, Joel Keating, Noah Medwin and Myers powered the Stingrays with four individual medals apiece as Yadkin kept pace with the Riptyde.

Luke Grotberg and Kepley each added three golds, while Jamie Beamguard and Hope Medwin finished first in two more events. Murrill, Fowler, Maris Bey, Mia Keating and Suzie Beamguard all tacked on a gold medal for the Stingrays.

Suzie Beamguard and Bey added three silver medals on the afternoon, while Stewart, Ian Medwin and Will Barron tacked on two second-place finishes.

With the regular season in the books, the Stingrays are gearing up for the conference swim meet Saturday at the Armfield Civic Center in Pilot Mountain.
