The Dobson-area Bojangles’ located at 402 East Atkins Street has won second place in the company’s ShowBo Awards, after undergoing a meticulous evaluation process based on customer satisfaction, food quality and overall experience.

This year’s awards included two rounds of unannounced inspections conducted by a team of two judges at both the lunch and dinner hours.

Each judge awarded points to restaurants based on a set of operating standards, and results for each team were combined for overall scores.

For earning second place honors in the ShowBo Awards, Shannon Heath, unit director of the Bojangles’ located on East Atkins Road, was awarded $3,000. Heath has been with Bojangles’ for a year.

In addition to the Bojangles’ in Dobson, two other Bojangles’ locations received ShowBo recognition. The Bojangles’ on South New Hope in Gastonia, N.C., was awarded first place and Unit Director Kim Midgett earned a cash prize of $10,000.

Third place was awarded to the East Main Street Bojangles’ in Biscoe, N.C., and the restaurant’s Unit Director Mindy Holder earned a $2,000 cash prize.

“Our Bojangles’ leaders and team members are the lifeblood of this brand as they ensure the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction,” said Bojangles’ President and CEO Randy Kibler. “ShowBo is a time-honored Bojangles’ company tradition that demonstrates our commitment to upholding the original mission – to serve the highest quality products in the friendliest of environments – and to honoring those dedicated teammates who do it best each year.”

Along with the unit directors of the top three Bojangles’ receiving a cash prize, all first-time ShowBo finalists receive a one-of-a-kind ShowBo ring containing four rubies.

When unit directors who are previous ShowBo finalists are selected again as finalists, their rubies are replaced with diamonds.

Unit directors named finalists for this year’s ShowBo awards included Stephen Allred from Asheboro, N.C.; Christina Cater from Huntersville N.C.; David Gonzalez from Hampstead, N.C; LaKrystal Gregory from Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Tamey Harbuck from Raeford, N.C.; Troy Harrington from Chelsea, Ala.; Judy Mauldwin from Concord, N.C.; Debbie Rabon from Columbia, S.C.; Sean Rubio from Northport, Ala.; Amanda Summerall from Richfield, N.C.
