The annual Rockford Memorial Day Service will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 3 p.m. at the Rockford Methodist Church in the Historic Village of Rockford.
This year’s guest speaker will be Chief Petty Officer Michael Hicks with the U.S. Navy. Hicks enlisted in the United States Navy in 1988 and has recently retired. He will share some of his experiences while serving in Iraq, Somalia and many other countries.
Michael will also be reminding us of the importance of remembering our brave men and women who are serving their country now and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Let us never forget their enduring service to our country.
The program will continue in the Rockford cemetery where flags will be placed on soldiers graves.
The Rockford Memorial Day Service is sponsored by The Rockford Preservation Society, Inc., a non-profit organization. Donations will be accepted and will be appreciated. Contributions will support the Society’s historic programming and restoration efforts.
