CB Eller Elementary recognizes ‘Terrific Kids’

CB Eller Elementary School is rolling out the award recipients of its Terrific Kids program for the first quarter.

Terrific Kids is a program sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of North Wilkesboro. It is present in all 13 Wilkes County elementary schools, and the program focus is learning leadership through character development.

A student is chosen and named a Terrific Kid by his or her classroom teacher. Each quarter classroom teachers will target an area of good behavior, character development, etc. and select the students from each classroom that display those traits/characteristics. In turn those students are named Terrific Kids and are recognized at a ceremony.

These students were honored at an award ceremony on Monday, Oct. 1 in the school gym, at 8 a.m.

Pam Huffman, school principal, opened the ceremony by welcoming everyone and explaining how these students were selected as Terrific Kids. Kiwanis representative Eddie Day spoke to the crowd of how the Terrific Kids program came about and of the Kiwanis support.

Parents were invited to attend this ceremony, where their children were honored.

There were 80 students honored as Terrific Kids and received a certificate, bumper sticker and play ticket to the Children’s Theater.

The following are the 1st quarter Terrific Kids for CB Eller Elementary:
