Refuge Church will be hosting a breakfast for all veterans on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Elkin Rescue Squad from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The breakfast will be held in honor of Veterans Day, which is officially Nov. 11. However, it is commonly celebrated on the weekend prior to the actual date.

The Rescue Squad is located at 940 North Bridge St. and will be open serving a hot pancake breakfast until 11 a.m. on Saturday.

“We have not done this in the past, but our church is really trying hard to reach out to different ares of the community and we have people in our church that have lost loved ones in war, and we have people in our church who are veterans we wanted to honor those people because its’ a huge sacrifice,” said Amy Johnson, wife of Refuge Church Pastor.
