Coming up on Thursday, April 12, Elkin Public Library will host two Book Club discussions that are free and open to the public.

At 1 pm, we'll revisit a fictional war-torn Munich neighborhood in 1941, discussing THE BOOK THIEF by Markus Zusak.

At 6:45 pm, we'll trek to an extremely remote fictional Chinese mountain village during the Cultural Revolution's Re-education Movement, around 1971, to discuss BALZAC AND THE LITTLE CHINESE SEAMSTRESS by Dai Seiji.

Both novels explore times and places in which books are burned and outlawed. Can you imagine life without access to books? Join us to celebrate our freedom to read by discussing these novels during National Library Week, April 8-14.
