Surry County residents can begin casting their votes for November’s election as soon as Oct. 18.

OneStop early voting will be open Oct. 18 through Nov. 3 at the courthouse in Dobson at 201 E. Kapp St. The courthouse is open for voting Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 18 through Nov. 2 and from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Early voting locations will also open in Elkin and Mount Airy starting Oct. 29.

The Elkin OneStop voting location will be at Elkin Rescue Squad, 940 North Bridge Street. Voting hours will be Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 3.

The Mount Airy OneStop voting location will be at Surry County Human Services Center at 1218 State Street. Voting hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Surry County residents who have not registered to vote can also register and vote at these OneStop locations. A form of identification with the residents name and current address is required and votes must be cast the same day as registration.

“We’re hoping a lot of people will come out and vote in early voting to keep from having long lines on election day,” said Libby Tilly, Surry County elections clerk.
