Yale Huie will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church on Sunday at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited to worship in this historic church, especially campers in Stone Mountain State Park (camping clothes are fine).

Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church on the Traphill Road will have a movie and game night on Saturday at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out and have a good time. Homecoming will be Sunday, with Jerry Sparks bringing the message. All members and former members are invited to attend and enjoy a meal after the service.

Old Roaring River Baptist Church located at 13932 Longbottom Road, Traphill, will have revival beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Guest speaker will be Pastor Don Hudson of Fall Creek Baptist Church. Pastor James Pardue and church members want to invite all to come and worship God together in this revival.

Austin Baptist Church will have revival Oct. 2-7 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Ryan Hayes will be preaching and there will be special singing each evening. Pastor David Spicer invites everyone to worship with them.

Charity United Methodist Church will have its annual Mission Bazaar on Oct. 8 from 7 a.m. till noon. They will be serving a full breakfast with homemade biscuits and have lots of crafts for sale.

Redemption Band will perform at the Rocky Ridge Family Campground on White Rock Road in Thurmond on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy an evening of good gospel music.

There will be Bingo and hot dogs at the Traphill Fire Department on Oct. 15 at 6 p.m.

New books available to check out at the library include “Burning Sky: A Novel of the American Frontier” by Lori Benton, “Island of Glass” by Nora Roberts, “Stealing Snow” by Danielle Paige, and “Two by Two” by Nicholas Sparks.

The Friends of the Traphill Library still have a yard sale set up at the Traphill Tan and Tone. If you missed it last Saturday, they still have lots of good bargains. All proceeds will help buy more books for the Traphill Branch Library.

Condolences go to the family of Paul Gentry, who died on Sept. 22. He probably walked more miles than anyone in the county just going to churches and funerals, always carrying his Bible.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Matt and Betty Daye, who celebrate their 35th anniversary on Sept. 26; Mary and Jimmy Ray Hutchinson, who celebrate their 55th anniversary on Sept. 29; Jerry and Evelyn Sidden, who celebrate their 56th anniversary on Sept. 30; and Jim and Hazel McCarter, who celebrate their 77th anniversary on Oct. 1.

Traphill had a low temperature of 61.8 degrees on Sept. 24 and a high temperature of 95.9 degrees on Sept. 24. There was no rain in Traphill during the week of Sept. 19-25.
