Traphill Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The theme is Bible Blast to the Past and lunch and snacks will be provided.

Derick Barker will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church Sunday at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited to worship in this historic church within the boundaries of Stone Mountain State Park. Campers are encouraged to come as they are.

This year’s Summer Reading Program at Traphill Branch Library theme is “Every Hero Has A Story.” On July 14, there will be a Story Time program at 11 a.m. and on July 16 at 9 a.m. the Schiele Museum will present a program about machines. On July 18, Skippyjon Jones will make an appearance at 11 a.m.

New books ready to check out at Traphill Branch Library include “Glitter and Gunfire” by Cynthia Eden, “Silent Night Standoff” by Susan Sleeman, and “Blood on Copperhead Trail” by Julia Graves.

New audio books on CD include “Stella by Starlight” by Sharon M. Draper and “White Fang” by Jack London.

Traphill had a low temperature of 59 degrees on June 29 and a high temperature of 88.1 degrees on June 30. There was 2.6 inches of rain in Traphill during the week of June 29-July 5.
