Wayne Overcash will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church on Sunday at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited to worship in this historic church, especially campers in Stone Mountain State Park (camping clothes are fine).

The 16th annual Golf Tournament sponsored by the Traphill Masonic Lodge will be Saturday at the Stone Mountain Golf Course. Registration will be from 11 a.m. to noon, lunch from noon to 1 p.m. and tee time will be at 1 p.m. The Hole In One prize is a 2016 Harley Davidson Breakout motorcycle. There will be a benefit ride for Trails to Stone Mountain on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Henry Key Farm, 815 Mountain Park Road in State Road. Elvis is returning to the Traphill Fire Department on May 21 at 6 p.m! For $15, you can enjoy a spaghetti supper and the Elvis show. You must get your tickets in advance from any Traphill fireman.

There will be a Bingo fundraiser for the mission Gateway to Guatemala at Roaring Gap Missionary Baptist Church on May 20 beginning at 7 p.m. Food will be available at 6 p.m.

New books available to check out at the Traphill Branch Library include “Beyond All Dreams” by Elizabeth Camden, “Dancing Feet” by Lindsey Craig, “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae, “I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean” by Kevin Sherry, “Lineage of Grace: Five Stories of Unlikely Women Who Changed Eternity” by Francine Rivers, and “Little Basketball Boardbook” by Brad Herzog.

Do you like to build with Legos? Come to Traphill Branch Library on May 10 and 12 and show what you can build. Legos will be provided.

Traphill had a low temperature of 47.1 degrees on May 7 and a high temperature of 82.2 degrees on May 2. There was 1.6 inches of rain in Traphill during the week of May 2-8.
