Derick Barker will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist on Sunday at 9 a.m., weather permitting. If the Stone Mountain State Park is closed due to bad weather, there will be no service. The Longbottom Road is still closed due to a bridge replacement so you have to use the Grissel Tail Road or the John P. Frank Parkway Road through the Stone Mountain State Park.

The Traphill Fire Department will be having a spaghetti supper on Feb. 20 beginning at 6 p.m. This will be followed by Bingo with all prizes worth $20 or more.

New books available to check out at the Traphill Branch Library include “Depraved Heart: A Scarpetta Novel” by Patricia Cornwell, “Descendants: Mal’s Spell Book” by Disney Book Group, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid #10: Old School” by Jeff Kinney, “Finding Audrey” by Sophie Kinsella, “The Forgotten Recipe” by Amy Clipston, and “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” by David Lagercrantz.

Get well wishes go to H.C. Kennedy, who was in the hospital last week; Linvel Sparks had surgery; Barbara Wiles fell and broke her arm; Chris Pruitt is still having problems from a bout of Lyme disease; and Jamie Edwards is going to have some heart tests.

Condolences go the family of Frank Hutchinson, who died on Jan. 28.

Happy anniversary wishes go to John and April Kennedy Bentley, who celebrated their 26th anniversary on Jan. 26; Rita and Bobby Holbrook, who celebrated their 23th anniversary on Jan. 29; Daniel and Caroleen Wagoner, who celebrated their 42nd anniversary on Feb. 1; and Jill and Joe Woodie, who celebrate their 38th anniversary on Feb. 5.

Traphill had a low temperature of 26 degrees on Jan. 25 and a high temperature of 62.2 degrees on Jan. 31. There was only a little mist of rain in Traphill during the week of Jan. 25-31.
