The Traphill Branch Library will be closed Nov. 25, Nov. 26 and Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving.

The Friends of Traphill Branch Library will have a yard sale set up at the Traphill Tan & Tone on Traphill Road on Dec. 5 beginning at 8 a.m. If you have donations for them, drop them off at the Tan & Tone. No clothes please since they don’t have any room for them.

New books available to check out at the Traphill Branch Library include “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” by Rachel Joyce, “Danger in a Red Dress” by Christina Dodd, “Foreign Affairs” by Stuart Woods, “Saint Anything” by Sarah Dessen, “Eve” by William Paul Young, “A Christmas Escape” by Anne Perry , “Tongue in Chic” by Christina Dodd, “Marry Me at Christmas” by Susan Mallery, “Stars of Fortune” by Nora Roberts (Audio Book on CD).

Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church will have Youth Day on Sunday with the youth leading the service. The Hanging of the Green will be presented at 6 p.m. with snacks afterward in the fellowship hall.

Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church will have the Hanging of the Green on Sunday at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall after the service.

Yale Huie will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church on Dec. 6, weather permitting, at 9 a.m. and the Crabgrass Band will be singing. The bridge on the Longbottom Road near Grissel Tail Road is being replaced so you need to use the Grissel Tail Road or the John P. Frank Parkway Road. I heard that the road will be closed about six weeks to replace the bridge.

Dereck Hutchison, Matthew Kennedy and Brian McDaniel had a successful hunt in Wyoming. Not sure how many deer they got but I saw several pictures on Facebook of them with their deer.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Ricky and Patricia Finger, who celebrate their 31st anniversary on Nov. 24.

Traphill had a low temperature of 32 degrees on Nov. 21 and a high temperature of 75.3 degrees on Nov. 19. There was 2.5 inches of rain in Traphill during the week of Nov. 16-22.
