Dennis Ball will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church Sunday at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited to worship in this historic church within the boundaries of Stone Mountain State Park. Campers are encouraged to come as they are.

Old Roaring River Baptist Church on Longbottom Road has had to cancel revival this week and will announce a later date for it.

Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church will have revival Oct. 12-16 at 7 p.m. Zach Sizemore will be the guest speaker. Pastor Ritchie Harris and the congregation invites everyone to attend.

There will be a Harvest Festival at the BROC Austin Meal Site on Oct. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be door prizes and prizes for the best costume. Witches Stew (soup), Scream wich (cheese sandwich), toad stool (cookies), and witches brew (drinks) will be served for $5. The Crabgrass Bluegrass Band will be singing.

The annual Holbrook reunion will be held Oct. 17 at Old Roaring River Baptist Church fellowship hall. All descendants of Brownlow & Sallie Ann Holbrook are invited to bring a covered dish and enjoy an afternoon of catching up on the family news. Plans are to eat about noon.

The Friends of Traphill Branch Library are having a used book sale at the Traphill Tan & Tone on Traphill Road from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. since they got rained out at Old Fashion Day in Stone Mountain State Park. Stop by and check out some really great books.

Beginning Oct. 1, the Traphill Branch Library will be open every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. There will be a children’s program at 10 a.m.

Mike Caldwell has been called as pastor of Traphill Baptist Church.

Get well wishes go to Larry Prevette, who had surgery recently and is now doing well; to Linda Johnson, the wife of the Rev. Hobert Johnson, who had surgery recently; and Danny Blevins, who is recovering from a bad arm injury he received in a car accident.
