There will be a benefit for the family of Steven and Annie Draughn with dinner and singing at Beulah Land Baptist Church in Roaring River on Saturday, beginning at 2 p.m. All three family members have been in the hospital and they have no insurance and need help with medical expenses.

New books available to check out at Traphill Branch Library include “Dangerous Illusions” by Irene Hannon, “Deep Freeze” by John Sandford, “Echo of Danger” by Marta Perry, “Fairytale “ by Danielle Steel, “Holly and Ivy” by Fern Michaels, and “Intuitive Color & Design: Adventures in Art Quilting” by Jean Wells.

There will be a Friends of Traphill Library meeting on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Traphill Tan and Tone. Officers for the next year will be elected.

Since the library will be closed for Veterans Day on Saturday and for Thanksgiving on Nov. 23 and 25, the library will be open on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Happy birthday wishes go to Walsie Tharpe, Natalie Mathis and Ryan Hall on Nov. 7; Scott Anderson, Noah Mathis and Rebekah Cranford on Nov. 8; Tina McGrady Parsons on Nov. 9; Dale Harris on Nov. 10; Gail Brewer on Nov. 11; and Adam Johnson on Nov. 12.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Lynn and Allen Hudson, who celebrate their 39th anniversary on Nov. 6; April and Jackie Pruitt Jr., who celebrate their eighth anniversary on Nov. 11; and Claude and Betty Joines, who celebrate their 62nd anniversary on Nov. 12.

Traphill had a low temperature of 37 degrees on Oct. 30 and a high temperature of 77 degrees on Nov. 3. There was .5 inch of rain during the week of Oct. 30-Nov. 5.
