BOONVILLE — Starmount High School will host the Yadkin Valley Basketball Academy June 9 and 10.

Camp times run from 8:30 to 10: 30 a.m. for rising second- through sixth-graders; and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for rising seventh- through 12th-graders.

The camp will focus on ball-handling, passing, shooting, footwork, defense, speed, and agility.

Cost of the camp is $40.

Starmount Coach Rocky Horton said the camp is for those “who are interested in basketball and those who are just learning basketball” as well as more advanced work for the older and more experienced players.

Horton will have his Mountain Valley Athletic Conference coaching staff with him at the camp: Isaac Rose, Ralph King and Steve Brown. Current Starmount players will be there to help coach as well.

Horton said the camp is looking to provide an opportunity for kids who are looking for more individual instruction without a high cost and without having to travel to Winston-Salem.

For more information, email Horton at rocky.horton@yadkin.k12.nc.us or call 336-755-7860. Registration information can be found at www.YadkinBball.com
