RONDA — East Wilkes didn’t drop a set on its way to a 9-0 win over Alleghany on Senior Day Thursday afternoon.

“Today was a great way to end our regular season,” East Wilkes Coach Aaron Simmons said. “It’s always special to be able to see your seniors win their last home match, and Jeffrey (Haynes), Stone (Bauguess), and Justus (Brickey) were able to do just that.

“Each of our seniors represent our team and school with an excellent sense of passion, purpose, and pride, and they have shown the rest of our guys how an East Wilkes tennis player should be.

“Our focus now shifts to the conference tournament and to the state playoffs, where we hope to extend our season and do some special things.”

East Wilkes finishes 8-6 overall and 6-4 in the conference.
