RONDA — The East Wilkes Lady Cardinals started Tuesday’s game against Starmount strong, and never let down as they beat the Lady Rams, 76-29.

East Wilkes came out scoring in the first quarter leading the game at 21-9. By half-time, the Lady Cardinals led 48-13.

The second half of the game the scoring wasn’t as lopsided although East Wilkes’ girls continued to outscore the Lady Rams, 12-5 in the third quarter and 16-11 fourth quarter.

The win gives the Lady Cardinals a 7-6 record, and Starmount an 0-9 record.

Starmount’s girls were scheduled to play Forbush in East Bend Wednesday night, but no scores were reported from the match-up.
