SALISBURY — On Mother’s Day, Kathryn Elizabeth Gilliam received the greatest Mother’s Day gift she could imagine. She was reunited with her children, Jessica and Arthur in Heaven. Kathy was 40 years old. She was born in Texas to Tony and Jodi Gilliam, but grew up in Elkin. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Kathy is survived by her sister, Sue (Mark) Park, nieces, Erica and Addison Park; her brother, Michael (Mary) Gilliam, and niece, Sara Gilliam; sister-in-law, Maryann Meyerholt (Ken), and nieces and nephews Abigal, Gabriel, Daniel, Ariel, Peter, Naomi, Job, Sam, Jordan and Thomas of Michigan. She is preceded in death by her children, Jessica Gilliam and Arthur Blackwell; parents; her sister, Krista Gilliam; and her brother, David Gilliam. There will be a Celebration of Life service at Christ United Methodist Church, 3401 Mooresville Road, Salisbury, NC 28144, on Sunday, June 1, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House at 1229 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144. Johnson Funeral Home is serving the family of Kathy Gilliam.
