YADKINVILLE — The Harlem Wizards will make two special appearances — Sept. 20 at Starmount High School at 7 p.m. and on Sept. 27 at Forbush High School at 7 p.m. — to help Yadkin County United Fund kick off this year’s annual fundraising campaign.

Both evenings promise to be a fun-filled event that is great for kids and adults and will guarantee to put a smile on your face. This event is hosted by Yadkin County United Fund.

The Harlem Wizards have a unique mission: create awe-inspiring events throughout the country. At a Wizards game, fans will witness amazing basketball talent. The Harlem Wizards’ appearances have been paid for by local business sponsorships. Monies raised from this event will help Yadkin County United Fund to be able to continue to support programs that the better the lives of Yadkin County residents.

The Wizards will take on our very own Yadkin County All*Star Team comprised of favorite teachers and principals, alumni and local celebrities. With hilarious comedy, it’s two hours of family time where parents, grandparents and kids can all laugh together. Throughout the game, fans will experience an amazing display of tricks, coordinated ball handling, fancy passing and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and an audience interaction experience that can only be summed up in two words: Awe-Inspiring.

The kickoff event marks the start the United Fund’s annual campaign. It’s an opportunity to thank donors, volunteers and local companies for their continued support and it’s a way to educate the community about what the United Fund does for Yadkin County. Last year, Yadkin County United Fund allocated funds to 30 local programs that provide food, shelter, healthcare, victims’ services and educational initiatives. Thousands of families in Yadkin county depend on these programs to survive.

YCUF President Carol Roberts said, “Yadkin County United Fund is all about helping families. We think this event will be an exciting opportunity to bring the whole family for a fun-filled affordable night out that also is doing a whole lot of good for our community.”
