Teens declared their spot at Fiddles Pub Thursday as part of the pub’s Teen Night, mostly for the local under-21 crowd.
“We’re excited for the return of teen night,” said Fiddles Pub co-owner LeAnne Mantero. “Everything went great and we look forward to holding an evening for our teens every other month or so.”
Performances were held by rising star A.J. Mantero and a garage band from Elkin called The Lone Rangers.
A.J. Mantero, daughter of the owners of Fiddles Pub, showcased her debut song “Always be the Same.” The track, available on iTunes, was produced by Andrew Lane, the 2012 Billboard award-winning producer who worked with artists such as Backstreet Boys and Irene Cara, and is known for his work with “High School Musical,” “Hannah Montana,” “Disneymania 4,” and “Manny Fresh.”
The trio of The Lone Rangers is made up of Jonah Christian, Nate Hunter, and Hunter Norris, all 15-years-old and from Elkin High School.
“We had a talent show in seventh grade middle school. We were desperate for a name, and the name was pretty funny. We stuck with it,” said Norris of how the band selected its name.
According to Hunter, the band wants to play some more.
“I really enjoyed playing. I have to say we had some fun. We’re also looking for a few more gigs. We’ll see what happens,” said Norris.
“I love coming out and listening to the band,” said Josie Walker of Jonesville, who saw a posting about teen night on Facebook.
At the event Mantero announced that she would be departing to Los Angeles on Saturday morning to shoot the music video for her song and that the video will be directed by Nayip Ramos.
Mantero also stated that she will be recording her part in the Left Eye Project, a tribute to Lisa “left eye” Lopez formerly of the Grammy winning group, TLC.
Approximately 50 teens showed up for the venue coming in and out at their own pace. Many opted to attend with relatives or friends.
