For the third consecutive year, Animal Ark is the primary sponsor of The Elkin Tribune’s Cutest Pet Contest. Animal Ark makes sure some of the area’s cutest pets are healthy and happy, and they want readers to share their photos of the cutest pets in our online contest.
In addition, Custom Heating and Cooling will be helping sponsor this year’s contest.
The Elkin Tribune’s annual Cutest Pet Contest gets under way Monday morning.
Folks with pets can submit their photos online starting Monday. Simply click on the contest logo on The Elkin Tribune website (www.elkintribune.com) and follow the directions. All one needs is a valid email address and some cute pets to get started.
Entries will be accepted through Feb. 27.
But before that, starting Feb. 16, the entries will go before the voters. And voting will continue through Feb. 28.
“We are looking for all the cutest pets this year. Those include cats and dogs, but we want to see other cute pets too, like snakes, hamsters, horses, donkeys, ferrets, ducks, birds and more,” said Wendy Byerly Wood, content manager of The Elkin Tribune. “We’ve had some cute bunnies appear on the site in the past.
“No matter the pet,we want to see photos of everyone’s cutest, and then we can’t wait to see who wins.”
Prizes will be awarded to winners, thanks to the generosity of local merchants like Animal Ark and Custom Heating and Cooling.
There will be a $250 prize for first place; a $100 prize for second place; and a $50 gift certificate for the third-place finisher.
“We can’t thank our sponsors enough, because, without them, we would have no contest,” said Holly Lamm, who begins her new role as business development manager for The Elkin Tribune Monday. “And we would certainly urge everyone to support those businesses every chance they get.”
And, of course, Wood and Lamm, like the sponsoring businesses, are encouraging everyone to start entering their pets in the contest Monday and then visit the website to peruse the competition.
“It’s sure to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see all those adorable pets. Animals are special and they’re so cute,” said Wood.
