Two suspects are in police custody in Winston-Salem in connection with a home invasion that occurred in Elkin on Wednesday morning resulting in the injuries of two victims.
According to Capt. Kim Robison with the Elkin Police Department, officers responded to 853 Johnson Ridge Road at 6:15 a.m. after a call was placed to 911 regarding a home invasion. When officers arrived on the scene, they found that two residents had been assaulted.
According to the police, a vehicle also was stolen from the residence.
An Elkin police dispatcher placed a “10-101” — police jargon for “be on the lookout” on a blue Cadillac DeVille with South Carolina plates.
“Through collaboration with the vehicle leasing company, we were able to locate the vehicle and we informed the Winston-Salem Police Department on the approximate location of the car as it was moving. A pursuit occurred. Two suspects have been apprehended. This all took place at approximately 11 a.m.,” said Robison.
According to Robison, the Elkin Police Department issued warrants on Daquan Clover, 17, of Winston-Salem, and William Dungee, 18, of Winston-Salem. Both have been charged with first-degree burglary, armed robbery, larceny of a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle.
Both suspects are in Forsyth County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond on the Winston-Salem Police Department charges.
Robison said a third male suspect is being sought in connection to the home invasion, but she would not release additional information.
According to Robison, the victims of the assault were treated at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and released.
