DOBSON — Dobson Elementary School had a great day celebrating Dr. Seuss and reading with the annual Read Across America celebration.

The school started the day with retired educators and community members reading to each of the classes. Students were able to create and wear T-shirts based on their favorite books. They had special Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) times along with buddy reading times with students from other grades.

Every student had time in one of the computer labs to look at e-books online and they even had a “Name that Character” quiz show. The day ended with the staff acting out one of the best Dr. Seuss books of all times, Green Eggs and Ham.

It was a great day to celebrate reading at Dobson Elementary.
