DOBSON — A blood drive hosted by the Surry Community College Machining Club will be held today from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the SCC Gymnasium in Dobson.
The club hopes to collect 50 pints through the daylong drive. Food and drinks will be provided to the participants, compliments of Save-A-Lot, Bojangles and McDonald’s.
Appointments are encouraged and will be honored at the blood drive. Contact Corey Easter at 386-3219 and leave a message. Appointment time will be confirmed by a return telephone call.
The Surry Community College Machining Club is comprised of students enrolled in the Computer-Integrated Machining Technology curriculum. The Machining Club participates in community service activities along with attending tool shows and visiting companies that employ machinists. Machining Instructor Corey Easter is the faculty advisor, and the club is in its first year of existence.
