Twenty-two teams gathered on Thursday at Cedarbrook Country Club to golf, spend time together and celebrate the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce in the annual tournament.

Chairman of the Board of the YV Chamber Jerry Stroud said it was a great day for networking and appreciated golfers taking the time out of busy schedules to participate.

Stroud said a major goal of the chamber tournament was to simply have fun and enjoy the day at the golf course.

He thanked all sponsors and David Cline of Federal Financial for providing a lunch of hot dogs, hamburgers and all the fixings.

Golfer and Elkin City School Principal Anthony Davis said, “I am here to support our businesses as much as they have supported us.

“It is a great day to be a member of the chamber of commerce,” said Davis.

Myra Cook, president of the chamber, said many came together from all professions to support the chamber with a great turnout and said she is appreciative of all the support.

Cedarbrook General Manager Zim Zimmerman said the tournament is a great way to show appreciation to a community that has been so supportive to them. “People make the community and we appreciate the players coming out to play in the tournament,” said Zimmerman.
