JONESVILLE — The Arlington First Baptist Church in Jonesville will present its nativity drama on Dec. 13 and 14.
The third annual drama is called “Tell Me the Story of Jesus.”
“It’s our interpretation of Jesus’ life and we’re thrilled to present our nativity scenes,” said Youth Pastor Marty Nixon.
While the term “nativity scene” typically includes two-dimensional depictions in film, painting, printmaking and other media, “living nativity scenes” in which real humans and animals participate is what was given to them by the church.
Last year, a mechanical crane elevated the Jesus Christ actor simulating Christ’s ascension into heaven. Jesus was played by Brandon Nichols who was well poised, versed, very animated, and was quite busy shifting from nativity to nativity.
The narrator for the drama was John Wishon.
A significant amount of youth church members participated as cast members. Production officials indicated that this year follows that tradition.
Assisting the church will be the Arlington Fire Department, who direct traffic into and out from the church performance.
The church is located at 345 S. Main St. Spectators may sit in their cars and watch the show. Others are welcomed to sit outside.
Showtime runs continuously from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
According to organizers, each show last 30 minutes.
