RALEIGH — An Elkin resident was one of 149 applicants approve for licensure by the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners July 25.
Jeffrey Neil Wood of Elkin was approved as a CPA in the state.
Applicants for licensure are required to pass the Uniform CPA Examination and satisfy the education, work experience and moral character requirements of the board. A CPA certified to practice in North Carolina must annual renew his or her license and complete at least 40 hours of continuing professional education, including at least two hours of ethics education each year.
On July 25, North Carolina had 20,786 actively licensed CPAs.
