Carolina West Wireless receives national award for local community support

WILKESBORO — Carolina West Wireless, the premier wireless carrier in western North Carolina, recently received the wireless communication industry Outstanding Service Award at the Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) Annual Convention on Oct. 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in recognition for outstanding local community support.

As part of the CCA Annual Achievements Awards presentation, CCA President and CEO Steven Berry stated the Outstanding Service Award is awarded for “outstanding service to the community, willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty while reflecting positively on the wireless industry and the CCA.”

Also noted in the presentation was Carolina West Wireless’ recent philanthropic sponsorship of the Active Minds Chapter at Appalachian State University. Active Minds, Inc. is the nation’s premier organization that uses students as the driving force to change the perception about mental health. The nonprofit’s mission is to be the preeminent organizational catalyst for encouraging open dialogue and mental health help-seeking on thousands of college and high school campuses.
