STEVENS POINT, Wis. — Sentry Insurance recognized Southland Transportation Company of Dobson, with this year’s Sentry Fleet Safety Award. Only a select group of companies that make an uncompromising commitment to the culture of safety receive this recognition.

Southland Transportation was selected because their management, workers, and drivers supported a number of safety initiatives. They achieved an excellent fleet accident history, maintained programs to identify risks that improved safety for both drivers and employees, and received Sentry’s Safety Services top rating for meeting or surpassing safety standards.

“We congratulate Southland Transportation on their commitment to helping promote safety on the road,” said Tom Kintz, Sentry Safety Services consultant.

Added R.J. Cummings, president of Southland Transportation, “Management has always been strongly committed and supportive of our safety department programs, which has allowed our company to receive numerous safety awards for the past several years.

“However, our drivers and maintenance technicians deserve any due credit for this recognition. Safe drivers, along with a strong maintenance program, is key to our achievements. We are purposed to continually provide quality service to our customers in a safe manner, keeping in mind the safety of our employees and the public.”
