Underdown, Ball & Associates, LLC, a local real estate service provider, announced the acquisition of Jack A. Underdown, Inc., a long-time real estate company focused on commercial and residential sales and property management in the Elkin area.
According to the partnership owners, the acquisition builds upon UnderdownBall’s established commercial and residential appraisal business acquired from Jack A. Underdown, Inc. in 2005 and further strengthens the company’s real estate portfolio to include brokerage and property management.
UnderdownBall is a branding slogan developed by Underdown, Ball & Associates, LLC. The company is located at 920 N. Bridge St.
Bob Ball, partner of UnderdownBall, said, “We are immensely proud of this additional merger between the two companies, which began working together in the commercial and residential appraisal industry nine years ago.”
With this new acquisition, UnderdownBall will now manage all commercial and residential real estate sales, listings and property management, previously handled by Jack A. Underdown, Inc.
“This acquisition uniquely positions UnderdownBall as a full service provider for all commercial and residential real estate needs. Whether you need a property listed for sale, or are looking to buy a home, or need someone to manage a rental property, or need a property appraised, we can do it all under one roof,” said Ball.
Jack A. Underdown, Inc. was founded in the 1960s by Jack Underdown. Underdown passed away in May 2012. Since then, the company has been operated by Broker-In-Charge Bill Blackburn and Office Administrative Assistant Linda Osborne. Blackburn and Osborne recently announced their retirement from the company. “We thank them for their years of dedicated service and wish them well in their new ventures,” said Ball.
Effective immediately, Robert Ball serves as broker-in-charge and will continue his work as a general appraiser. Bob Ball will continue his role as a general appraiser and broker. The company also announced that Eris Ball is a new real estate broker and will work in sales and property management and assist with office administration.
According to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, a broker-in-charge is a real estate broker who has been designated as the broker having responsibility for the supervision of real estate provisional brokers engaged in real estate brokerage at a particular real estate office and for other administrative and supervisory duties.
An appraisal is a professional appraiser’s opinion of value. The preparation of an appraisal involves research into appropriate market areas; the assembly and analysis of information pertinent to a property; and the knowledge, experience, and professional judgment of the appraiser.
While the company’s services, location and contact information will remain the same, it has created a new logo, is launching additional marketing efforts and has a renovated office space.
